The Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge is an international business plan pitching competition for students and fresh graduate, showcasing new business concepts with a measurable positive environmental impact on the ocean. Created in 2018, the Challenge is the concrete outcome of a common vision by the four organizing institutions: The necessity to raise awareness on threats to our oceans, by fostering young peoples’ entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and enthusiastic commitment to conserve our planet. The Monaco Ocean protection Challenge aims to concretely support the successful creation and development of start-ups and organizations, able to demonstrate a positive impact on the ocean preservation in a short or medium term. Supported by educational institutions actively engaged in sustainable development and entrepreneurship, by environmental experts and associations, together with entrepreneurs and investors, the Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge contributes to the global outreach and soft power of the Principality of Monaco in Ocean Preservation. Organising Partners: The International University of Monaco offers Bachelor, Master & MBA Programs in Finance, Marketing, Sport Business Management, Luxury & International Business. The Oceanographic Institute Albert I Foundation was founded in 1906 to federate scientific and political actors, as well as the general public to « make the Ocean known, loved and protected ». Monaco Impact is a non-profit association developing and promoting projects that have a positive social impact and contribute to the soft power of the Principality of Monaco. The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (PA2F) is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale. The challenge is sponsored by CFM Indosuez, White Castle Partners and Nansen Polar Expeditions. Supporting partners for the challenge include 1000 Ocean Startups, Monaco Ocean Week, The Ocean Innovators Platform, SWEN Capital Partners and UpLink (World Economic Forum). CATEGORY 1 “EARLY-STAGE IDEAS”: Open to students (Bachelor, Master and MBA) and fresh graduates with a non-existing business. CATEGORY 2 “EXISTING STARTUPS/BUSINESSES”: Open to students (Bachelor, Master and MBA), fresh graduates, entrepreneurs and start-ups, with an existing business not founded before June 2022. Category 1 Winner – Sponsored by Nansen Polar Expeditions. A trip for 2 people to Svalbard (Norway) from July 13 to 20. Category 2 Winner -Sponsored by Monaco Impact.
