Furstenberg Maritime Advisory Joins TOOL As Strategic Partner
Sofia Fürstenberg Stott and Conor Fürstenberg Stott in Fürstenberg Maritime Advisory (FMA) are joining TOOL as strategic innovation & distribution partners for matchmaking of innovation/collaboration projects growth & new business opportunities for both partners.
Their previous experiences ranged from in-house consulting and innovation management with A.P. Møller-Maersk, to management consulting with DNVGL and developing Nor-Shipping’s new concept exhibition Blue Economy.
They are currently on the board of WISTA and providing maritime directorship for Ammonia Energy Association

FMA will be a core part of TOOL´s business development/commercial team which is being designed and built up during the pilot phase. In doing this FMA will cover a key senior industry matchmaking role identified as critical for TOOL´s growth in the early phase, while developing platform capabilities - focused on activating & supporting key account partners of TOOL
FMA helps shipowners with their transition journey, developing ESG strategies for mutual value creation and risk sharing. FMA is a member of The Getting To Zero Coalition and engages with supporting the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. FMA also provides Maritime Directorship to the Ammonia Energy Association.
Who are they?
Sofia Fürstenberg Stott is a leading figure in the innovation- and sustainability sphere of the maritime industry. She developed Nor-Shipping’s new concept exhibition Blue Economy, and launched the Opening Oceans Conference, connecting the wider ocean industries in such context for the first time. She has significant industry experience over more than 15 years, as Innovation Portfolio Manager with Maersk, and as a green shipping spearhead with DNV before establishing FMA. She holds an MBA in Shipping & Logistics from Copenhagen Business School, an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Lund University, and was part of the first cohort to finish the Top Tech Executive Innovation Program at Haas Business School back in 2009. Sofia is Board Member of WISTA International, and WISTA mentor.
Conor Fürstenberg Stott joined FMA IN 2019. Prior to this, Conor was Asset Manager with Maersk FPSOs, holding overall operational and commercial responsibility for a specialised LPG offshore facility. His career has included operations management ashore and as OIM/Master both offshore and aboard trading ships. Overall, his maritime career spans 30 years. In addition to achieving Master Mariner certification, he holds qualifications in Ship Management from Lloyds Maritime Academy and an MBA from Henley Business School. He assists in the maritime industry on a voluntary basis as mentor and advisory board member.
